The Government of Ghana is set to launch the ambitious ‘One Million Coders’ initiative today, Wednesday, March 16, 2025, a nationwide programme designed to equip one million young Ghanaians with vital coding and digital skills to thrive in the modern economy.
The official launch event will take place at 10:00 AM at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT, in Accra. The programme is expected to draw over 500 participants for its unveiling.
The pilot phase of the initiative will roll out in four key regions—Greater Accra, Ashanti, Bono, and Upper East—targeting a diverse group of learners and setting the stage for nationwide expansion.
This initiative underscores the government’s commitment to digital transformation, youth empowerment, and job creation in the tech sector. By providing access to essential skills in coding, data science, and digital entrepreneurship, the ‘One Million Coders’ program aims to prepare Ghana’s youth for the future of work.
