Stonebwoy has pledged his allegiance to support the Green Ghana Project spearheaded by the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.
Ghanaian dancehall artist Livingston Satekla, with stage name Stonebwoy, has thrown his weight behind the 2022 Green Ghana Project with a firm promise to campaign massively for nationwide support.
The 2022 Green Ghana project aims to create national awareness of the need to restore the greenness of our motherland. It seeks to establish a solid relationship between the youth and agriculture. The Green Ghana project also strives to enhance the livelihoods of communities through mitigating watersheds, engaging in seedling production and beautifying the environment.
In a meeting on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Stonebwoy joined the movement in the presence of the Minister, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor. Stonebwoy hailed the Green Ghana agenda saying, “the exercise is a call to save the environment from global warming”.
The dancehall icon vowed to use his social media handles, which have thousands of followers, to raise awareness about the Green Ghana project, generate interest and ensure that the government succeeds at restoring the country’s lost vegetative cover.
Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources encouraged Ghanaians to participate in the 2022 Green Ghana project and contribute to its success.
He also asserted that protecting the environment knows no political, religious or ethnic colourization. Therefore the initiative should be patronized by all to protect the country’s forest cover.
